profession designer
The industrial designer profession is comparatively new, characterised by dynamics and thus subject to constant change. For this reason, I believe it is essential that designers promote the professionalization of the profession and its constant development. In the long term, this will not only be a benefit for designers, but also for you as a customer.
VDID - representation of the profession
The Association of German Industrial Designers (Verband Deutscher Industriedesigner; VDID) was founded at the end of the 1950s as a professional lobby for the representation of interests of industrial designers. Then and now, the VDID sees itself as a competence centre for its members and serves as a mediator between industry and the designers as well as between politicians and business. Primarily, the qualification of the members makes it possible for the association to function. Globally, there are only a few national associations that can boast as many industrial designers with such great practical experience as the VDID. Membership in the VDID is an indication for the professionalism of the industrial designer. You can learn more about our association on the website of the VDID.
Activities
The nationwide activities of the VDID include the annual presentation at the EUROMOLD in Frankfurt am Main at the end of each year. Here, the members of the association demonstrate their design competence with project examples on a joint stand.

To name another example, in the area of the Regional Group Hesse / Rhineland-Palatinate / Saarland, the VDID is involved in the judging processes for designer prizes in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland.
